Privacy & data use

How the current IndexFound pre-launch service handles data.

IndexFound is being prepared for public launch. This page describes the behaviour of the current service and will be reviewed again before wider public promotion or affiliate monetisation is enabled.

Your identification session

When you describe a Sylvanian, IndexFound keeps the description, extracted clues and any accepted or rejected candidate IDs in an essential first-party session cookie. The cookie is HTTP-only, is not used for advertising, and expires after two hours unless you start a new identification sooner.

There are no public user accounts or saved collections in the current build. IndexFound does not currently persist your identification description to the research database.

AI-assisted clue extraction

If the optional AI parser is enabled, the description you submit is sent server-side to the OpenAI API so that observable clues can be extracted. The request is configured with store: false. If the AI parser is unavailable or not configured, IndexFound falls back to its deterministic parser.

Please use the description box only for details about the item you are trying to identify and avoid including names, contact details or other personal information.

Voice input

Voice recognition is provided by your browser or device. IndexFound receives the resulting text placed in the description field; the site does not receive or store the raw microphone audio itself.

Cookies and analytics

The current pre-launch build uses the essential identification-session cookie described above. IndexFound does not currently set advertising or analytics cookies. If non-essential analytics or other tracking is introduced later, this page and the site controls will be updated before that functionality is enabled.

Marketplace discovery and affiliate links

Result pages can provide a link to search eBay UK using the identity IndexFound resolved. Opening a marketplace link takes you to a third-party service, whose own privacy terms then apply.

Affiliate tracking is not enabled unless an approved eBay Partner Network campaign is deliberately configured. When compensation is possible, IndexFound displays a prominent disclosure next to the relevant marketplace link.

Research data

The public Index contains researched information about Sylvanian Families items, releases, evidence and sources. This research content is separate from visitor identification sessions.

Pre-launch status

IndexFound is still in controlled pre-launch development. This notice will be reviewed again before wider commercial promotion or affiliate tracking is enabled.
